The Akashic records are
perceived as a great universal library of everything that ever
has, is or will occur. That's every thought, intention, act, word or
deed, not just by humans but by the plant and animal kingdoms, even
down to the 'how', 'what', 'when', 'where' and 'why' of the movement
of a tiny speck of dust.
Absolutely everything is
recorded within the Akashic records, so if a hypothetical traveler
exploring space and time went to any place in the universe, realities
would be seen there as they should be down to the tiniest detail,
all recorded and able to manifest thanks to the Akashic records.
Likened to a super computer with endless memory capacity, it has the
ability to store information multidimensionally, including sounds, chemical compositions, orders of events, reflections, shadows, tastes, sensations and well, simply everything.
The Akashic records are
interactive, they're constantly changing and being updated. They'd have to be to take into account the infinite potential
time-lines and alternate dimensions of existence! We each have the
subconscious ability to access the Akashic records without even
realizing it. Charles Webster Leadbeater pointed out in his book
'Clairvoyance' in 1899, that the Akashic records are accessible by
people with clairvoyant capabilities. Since everyone has intuitive,
clairvoyant, psychic, mediumistic (and more) capabilities to varying
degrees depending on their level of suppression, it's possible that we all
use the Akashic records on a daily basis.
Can you remember a time when you knew a fact about something and you didn't know how you knew? Identified an object, place or person without ever knowing in the first place? You could have accessed the Akashic records. We effectively upload to the Akashic records continuously because it records every little thing about everything. Therefore, given that we are all spirit, at one with the universe whether we like it or not, it's likely we download from it too, very regularly.
The Akashic records don't
exist simply for the benefit of Earth. The Earth is just a miniscule
dot within the solar system, within the galaxy, within the universe
of galaxies, and beyond. We largely underestimate the scope of the
Akashic records and misconceive it's form, role and importance in our
lives.
A most accurate and to the
point description of the Akashic records was given by Edgar Cayce the
most documented prophet of the 20th century, nicknamed the 'sleeping
prophet'. He said that; 'Upon time and space is written the thoughts,
the deeds, the activities of an entity - as in relationships to its
environs, its hereditary influence; as directed – or judgment drawn
by or according to what the entity's ideal is'.
The Law of One states that
'The one sound vibratory complex called Edgar used this gateway to
view the present, which is not the continuum you experience but the
potential social memory complex of this planetary sphere. The term
your peoples have used for this the “Akashic Record” or the “Hall
of Records.”' Therefore Edgar Cayce was supposed not to be gaining
his information from any discarnate entities but directly from the
Akashic records.
The term 'akashic records'
comes from the Sanskrit word meaning 'space' or 'aether', inferring
that the documented knowledge within is somehow of space itself,
within a plane of existence other than our own, in a place where the
human physical body cannot go.
The Russian philosopher
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831-1891) described the Akashic records
as being 'indestructible tablets of light', as a kind of life force
energy. This is a wonderful description due to the involvement of
light. As we know, on an atomic level, everything is made from pure
energy, fundamentally light. The Akashic records would indeed exist
encoded in light and energy within the infinite mind of the universe.
In this article about 'oneness' we understand that the universe is
one infinite super intelligent conscious being, and that we are part
of that being, going about our daily lives existing so that infinite consciousness can experience itself. Everything within the
Akashic records being encoded in love/light/energy would make perfect
sense, when referring to the mind of the infinite consciousness.
Alice Ann Bailey,
philosopher and expert in esoteric psychology and healing, said that,
'The Akashic record is
like an immense photographic film, registering all the desires and
earth experiences of our planet. Those who perceive it will see
pictured thereon: The life experiences of every human being since
time began, the reactions to experience of the entire animal kingdom,
the aggregation of the thought-forms of a karmic nature (based
on desire) of every human unit throughout time. Herein lies the great
deception of the records. Only a trained occultist can distinguish
between actual experience and those astral pictures created by
imagination and keen desire'.
This beautiful and wise description of the Akashic records is a comprehensive
definition to go by. In addition, the last sentence is particularly
telling, the part about distinguishing between actual experience and
intense imagination within the records. The Akashic records are
stranger than we can perceive. It does not simply hold records of
what has, is and will happen, but given that in the 'spirit world'
thoughts are as real as reality, the Akashic records contains every
thought-form and intention made by a person if the will was strong
enough to manifest it. A personal example; I visit a couple of good spiritual
mediums every six months to a year. They always tell me that I am or
will be building a house. That I should look at the plans. They each
say this time after time. I never told them that I once applied for
planning permission to build a house, and that I wanted it so much
that I thought about it constantly, that I pictured it in my mind and
invested much emotion. The planning permission was refused, never to
be looked at again. But I had invested such an extreme amount of
thought and emotional energy into that project that the house was
practically built within the Akashic records. It pops up for me again
and again with immense vigor in any readings that I have. In this
reality, the house construction was never to be. As in the point made
by Alice Ann Bailey, distinguishing between actual experience and
those created by imagination and desire, can be a tricky thing even
for a trained medium.
The Akashic records'
'super computer' exists as pure energy in the mind of the infinite
consciousness of the universe, indeed in the 'aether'. It is nowhere,
and yet it is everywhere. Time runs along in a linear fashion on
earth, but not in other dimensions of existence. There, one can move
around in time at will. The Akashic records experience no time – it
is therefore a record of the past, present and future.
Many may perceive the
Akashic records as some sort of physical library, a vast place, that
one might walk through hunting for the correct book on the thoughts
of a person. It is far greater, intelligent, infinite, dynamic and
superior than that. Yet it is nowhere, everywhere, never and now at the same time. Our
limited perceptions find it difficult to grasp, hindered by the block
placed on our spirit memory.
The mind/body/spirit
complex that each of us possesses has access to the records, we
can choose to pay attention or to ignore them. Edgar Cayce believed that upon earthly death, each of us is shown our own personal Akashic record of actions and
in-actions within our lifetime, all relating to karma. This provides
insight into ourselves and our relationship with the universe.
The concept of examining one's life once we reach the spirit world has been reiterated by spiritual mediums the world over. Their spirit guides have imparted this information to them and others like them. Once your life is through you can review. For example, in a karmic fashion you see what you did in your life, intentionally or not, and how it impacted you and others. You can choose, for the purpose of spiritual progression, for learning and experience, to go into a new lifetime and experience the opposite or rectify actions in order to enrich your own learning. Karma is not a punishment.

Your own personal Akashic
records, or tiny subsection of the infinite mass mind or memory that
concerns you, is available for you to peruse. As you undergo healing
from your most recent lifetime spent, you can look back and learn.
Your own Akashic records enable you to do that.
Using the Akashic records
is the accessing of the infinite mass mind, the great mass
consciousness or unconscious memory - you are downloading from it.
Whether you're a spirit between lives or you are incarnate as human,
you access not by looking through a book or portfolio, but by a form
of telepathy. In this article on telepathy we see that information is
gained not by extraction or delving into people’s minds, but
through the sharing of the mass mind. As we are all one and share a
mass consciousness, it's simply a matter of joint access. The thoughts of
the mass mind seem like our own, the memories in the Akashic records
can seem like our own memories. We are ultimately all one mind when
we're not suffering from separation as our race is experiencing now.
